Daddy’s song

Once upon a time, my daddy was born into this world.

He lived on a farm and played with lizards and birds.

One day he met with God, standing in a church.

He took on the world, and love became his life’s work.

Thank you for giving us, so much of your time,

Thank you from all of us, your love spreads far and wide,

And you’re inside all of us, stuck inside all our hearts.

One day he met my mom; they fell in love.

They made three kids, had dogs.  A bit of heaven on earth.

You ask me who he was and I say he’s our hero.

And then one day he’s gone to a place not of this world.

And we’re gonna be okay, cause you left behind a gift:

I feel your strength in me, in all of us, you’re always here.

Thank you for giving us so much of your time,

Thank you from all of us, your love spreads far and wide,

And you’re inside all of us, stuck inside all our hearts.

And you’re inside all of us, stuck inside all our hearts.
