Megumi Kanematsu

Megumi Kanematsu is from Japan. She holds a BA degree in Pedagogy and an MA in Policy Management in Human Security.

Megumi Kanematsu was born in Tokyo/Japan.  She holds a BA in Pedagogy and an MA in Policy Management in Human Security. Since 1974 Megumi has worked full time in MRA/IofC, based in the UK, North and South America and Asia.  Between 1975-76 Megumi joined an MRA musical called ‘Song of Asia’ which used stories from across the continent to bring an answer to the needs of the world.  She was also based in Europe, United States and Canada where, with the help of true life stories, she shared a message of healing wounds. From 1976 to 80 Megumi worked in Brazil, and from 1993 - 2004, she joined Korean Buddhist ladies and Japanese Christian ladies who together worked to help with the education of Cambodian street children. In 2004 she learnt about the painful path people faced in the family system and she gained new perspectives on a world where a nation’s history affects the motives of people; she recognised that this pain could be used as a window to build piece in the world.
