Listening: the secret of a highly productive life.
Paul Tournier, a Swiss, Genevese General Practitioner, met Frank Buchman and the Oxford Group in the 1930s. This encounter deeply marked his life, so much so, he changed the process of his medical practice. He took more time listening and talking to patients, considering not only the physical dimension of their health, but also their psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
In 1940, he dedicated the first of his many books to Buchman, 'La Médecine de la Personne', later translated into English with the title 'The Healing of Persons'. 'A Listening Ear' was Tournier's last book.
