Wadiaa El-Khoury

Associate Professor and peacemaker

Wadiaa Khoury (PhD), from Zahle, Lebanon is an Associate Professor and Researcher at Saint-Joseph University and at the Lebanese University.

Wadiaa knew Initiatives of Change (IofC) since the age of 10, through her mother who is part of the Lebanese IofC team. Wadiaa became active with IofC after 2001 when she participated in Action for Life 1:  an IofC leadership training program.

In 2017 she was elected a member of the IofC International Council, where she served until 2019.

As an academic, she worked between 2013 and 2019 as a researcher with Tempus Euro-Med projects, as senior coach with USAID and as curriculum designer and senior coach with Adyan Foundation and CERD (Center for Education Research and Development). In 2020, Wadiaa worked as a Fulbright Scholar at Florida State University, where she performed a post-doctoral research on Innovation in Education. Wadiaa occasionally gives consultancy work as an Education Expert with MSI Tetra Tech. 

In 2022, she officially registered an initiative called "TASC: Teachers as Agents of Social Change'' which was awarded “Trust builder of the year” in 2023 in Caux.

Wadiaa is active in various initiatives with the Zahle Diaspora, the Comité d'aide Scolaire de Zahle, and the Community Farmers' Market, mostly bringing answers to the needs that emerged from the crisis Lebanon is going through since 2019.
