FROM EGYPT 8 July 2005
Dear members of IofC in Britain We are so distressed to hear the sad and tragic news in both Britain and Baghdad (the explosions in London and the assassination of the Egyptian ambassador in Iraq). Our sincere condolence for the lives lost and our hearts go out to the families of those who died or were hurt. We pray for them. We resent the drastic events that took place in London yesterday and sincerely hope that this will not be associated with true faithful Muslims who believe in peace, and respect all forms of human life. It is unacceptable to leave the world arena for extremists and crazy ideologues from all sides. This is a time to rise above primitive feelings of hatred and revenge, a time for the wise from all sides to come together and help in solving international problems rooted in greed, tyranny and the absence of moral drives. God help and guide us all.

FROM LEBANON 8 July 2005
Dear friends, During our weekly Thursday night meeting … participating members were shocked by what happened in London yesterday. Please accept our deepest condolences for the innocent victims of this terrorist act. We pray God to help the families of the victims and the injured. May God enlighten the perpetrators too to understand that yesterday was not a victory but on the contrary it was a loss for the whole humankind and that no Greater Cause could explain such acts. Please convey our message to all our friends in the beloved British team.
With my sincere friendship,
A Lebanese friend
