Burford Weeks

Burford Weeks (1908-1977) was a medical doctor of British and Canadian nationality, who worked for 20 years with the World Health Organization (1949-1969), in India, Burma and Geneva, where he became Chief of Programme and Planning, Malaria Eradication Division. In 1959 he and his wife Catherine, and three children, Joy, Alan and Richard, attended a Caux conference, which had a profound impact on his personal, professional and family life. In the first year of his retirement, he and Catherine hosted the MRA home in Bangalore, India. They later moved to Cheshire, where Burford helped with the administration of the MRA centre at Tirley Garth until his death from cancer at the age of 69.
