'Zahra: Change Begins at Home' screened at International Images Film Festival for Women

Zahra: Change Begins at Home, was screened twice at a film festival in Harare, Zimbabwe

 

The latest documentary film by IofC's FLTfilms, Zahra: Change Begins at Home, was screened twice, on the 20th and 25th November, in Harare, Zimbabwe as part of the 10th anniversary of the International Images Film Festival for Women. The of the festival brochure is attached for downloading. The festival, which is held, under the theme 'Women With Goals', is the biggest professional women's film festival South of the Sahara.

Zahra Change Begins at Home tells of the passion and commitment of a single mother with four children, a refugee from Somalia, who overcomes obstacles to transform her life and make a difference in the community. Tackling crucial issues that affect social harmony, breaking down communication barriers between the young and the old, resolving conflicts between groups and clans, and campaigning on the global issue of female genital mutilation.
