Rex Dilly was a Scottish full-time volunteer with MRA/IofC who spent 26 years supporting the work in India.

During the Second World War he was part of the defence of Malta as part of the Royal Artillery. His unit then fought alongside the Polish Corps when the Allies attacked Italy. He was mentioned in despatches.

He travelled widely but most of his time was in India where he was part of the staff of the news weekly, Himmat.

By 1979 he was based in the UK and he made the first of 20 visits to Poland. He also he wrote a book, Discovering Moral Re-Armament (1995).

On his passing, a requiem mass was given in Krakow, conducted entirely in Polish, for a Scotsman who didn't speak a word of the language. Rex Dilly, both in life and in death, evoked uncommon responses of gratitude from many Poles.
