Bukiwe Maseko 22.02.1964 - 03.06.2016
South Africa .Together with all participants, friends and volunteers in Caux we are very sad that Bukiwe has left us. She was a dear friend and we enjoyed teaming up with her in room service at Caux.
Bettina Trippen and Maya Fiaux: Bukiwe served in housekeeping at Caux for six years and was the head of the department for the last few years. When asked what volunteering at Caux means to her and why she returns each year, she said: I have always dreamed of serving the world.
By joining Caux I have achieved my life's goal, because I love to care for others, and it helps me to understand the world, different cultures and religions, and the political norms of other countries better. I am not here for the money but for the growth of my mind, soul and heart. Every year I am enriched. I learn from others, especially the young interns, and I make lifelong friends. There is also the spirit of the house.
This place is so warm and welcoming. You have time to listen to others and develop a real team spirit. Most importantly, you feel fulfilled caring for others. Because that's what the world needs. We need to take care of each other. And here you have the opportunity.
