This was the latest award for the Beyond Forgiving documentary film, following on from the Golden Award for Inspiration at the International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality (IFFPIE) in September 2013.
The Award of Excellence for spirituality, religion and visionary distinguishes the film for the role played by individuals who care about humanity, striving for peace within themselves and for forming strong and healthy alliances with others. In particular, to inspire the younger generation to have broader mindset and perspective and to accept differences among religions and belief systems in action towards peace.
This latest award is timely as Beyond Forgiving was screened to 24 young adults at School for Changemakers Reunion held at the IofC London centre, 15-17 November 2013. Howard Grace, Producer of the film, led a 90 mins Q&A session.
The key points raised by this group were:
-
How does the documentary relate to today's British society?
-
Which groups need to engage in the discussion and when is forgiveness not possible or not appropriate?
-
Can young people of Britain from opposing backgrounds work through their differences?
