Canadian costume designer who worked on MRA plays
Dorothy Phillips came from Canada where she designed for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for nine years. Two of the ballets she costumed were presented at Royal Command performances when the Queen visited Winnipeg. She worked on plays and films in many countries, including the filming of Freedom in Nigeria and Men of Brazil in Latin America. Designs for the Westminster Theatre in London ranged from Mr Wilberforce MP to the pantomime Give a Dog a Bone (play and film) and the nineteen-thirties' costumes for the musical Annie.
