Theatre, church, travels... several lives packed into one
Leslie Marsh’s 44 years in the Methodist ministry took him into the industrial heartlands of England and Wales. Amidst the busy life of a minister, he created Britain’s first professionally equipped theatre-church, and helped Christian theatre to flourish in London’s West End and other cities.
Whether featuring in the Daily Express with his controversial pantomime, substituting for the leading lady in one of his plays, or helping resolve industrial disputes, Leslie has found many ways other than the pulpit to enable the truths of Christ to reach into Britain’s homes, industries and colleges. And through it all, he has kept making discoveries, as this book reveals.
