Tunisian nationalist and politician
As a young nationalist, Masmoudi came to Caux in 1953. He encountered there 'a different kind of French' and experienced a liberation from his hatred of the colonial power. He then played an important part in the negotiations for Tunisia's independence, and later travelled with the MRA World Mission with the Vanishing Island musical play. Masmoudi was the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1970 until 1974. He died on 7 November 2016, aged 91.
