Jarvis Harriman is a New Englander by birth whose life was much shaped by the Depression and World War II, as well as by growing up in a clergyman’s family. He is a graduate of Trinity CoIlege in Connecticut. After wartime military service he volunteered in the program of Moral Re-Armament in North America, Europe and Asia, in the fields of personal, racial and international relations.

ln the 1970s and ‘80s Harriman was executive director of the Tuscon Festival Society, celebrating the cultural heritage of that southwestern city’s Indian, Spanish, Mexican and Pioneer American background. He is the author of The Man from the Hills: a Biography of Leland D. Case, published by Westerners International of Oklahoma City. He and his wife, the former Nancy Dole, live in Tucson, Arizona.
