Denmark 1938-1955

Danish initiatives for reconciliation before and after World War 2.

This is the story of a group of Danes in the years before, after and during World War II, when Denmark suffered mass unemployment and was occupied by Germany. An experience of inner change empowered them to take creative action to address their country's problems and to play a part in the reconstruction and reconciliation of Europe after the war.

Keld Jörgensen first began to work with this group during the years of the occupation, when he was a student at Copenhagen University and also took part in the resistance movement. After the liberation he served as an officer in the Danish army. Later he became involved in an initiative for strengthening democracy in industry and for the reconciliation of Europe, which developed out of the international Moral Re-Armament conferences at Caux in Switzerland.

Foreword by Dr Mogens Muller, Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Copenhagen.
