Pierre Spoerri was the son of Professor Theo Spoerri, one of the founding fathers of the  Caux Meetings Center, known for his public engagement with the Gothard League in 1940.

Pierre Spoerri was born in 1926. He began by studying medicine at the universities of Geneva and Zurich, then dropped his studies and began working full time with the Moral Rearmament (former name of Initiatives of Change). Later, and for many years, he and his German wife, Fulvia, born von Hahn, moved to Bonn to serve and inspire German politicians in following the spirit of peacebuilding and reconciliation initiated by the Moral rearmament after the Second World War.

At the same time, and also for many years, he and his wife were among the people in charge of the international conferences organized by Initiatives of Change in Caux, in Switzerland.

He has published several books, including Keine Zeit für Stille Zeit, Dynamik der Vergebung, Die Kunst mit dem andern zu leben (with his father, Theophil Spoerri), Rediscovering Freedom (with John Lester) and Mein Vater und sein Jüngster. And most recently in 2016, Frank Buchman and the Germans.

We will remember him as a man of great intelligence and great dedication; deeply committed to working for a better world through the dynamics of personal change for global change; and for many as a far-sighted mentor, example and a friend.
