I was born in Zimbabwe in June 1982 to my parents Alec and Elisabeth Smith. I had the privilege of growing up in an Independent Zimbabwe where I spent a great deal of time playing and exploring in the nature around me. My strongest memories from my childhood include the deep red mud on my legs and clothes after playing outside for hours, the smell of the rain at the end of a very hot day and the warmth of the sunshine on my skin. After high school I moved to London where I studied art for a year and then to Cape Town where I studied filmmaking. When my father passed away suddenly in 2006 I started to write … I wrote songs, I filled a book with letters to him and I wrote a feature length film script entitled “Searching for Heaven”, all as a way to make sense of and process my grief.
Whilst living in South Africa I got married and had 2 beautiful children. I also worked in film and media, and early childhood education with a focus on drama, dance, music and art. At the beginning of 2021 my family and I moved to Norway where I currently work as an online English Trainer and continue to pursue my creative passions in music, art and filmmaking.
