Mike Brown left university in the 1960s to try to change the world.  With his wife, Jean, they are still at it five decades later, contributing what they can as writers/facilitators/social activists on a range of initiatives for social transformation and reconciliation. Their work through the movement of Initiatives of Change has taken them into many countries including South Sudan, Cambodia, India and the USA.  In the 1980-1990s, Mike was active in the movement seeking reconciliation with Australia’s First Nations (Aboriginal) people, and in 2000 he was awarded ‘Non-Indigenous Australian of the Year’ in his state.  Mike began writing when editor of a youth tabloid in Los Angeles during the 1960s, then spent eight years on the staff of the weekly Himmat magazine in India. In 2003 he wrote and published No Longer Down Under – Australians Creating Change.
