Musical inspired by the life of Mary McLeod Bethune.
Opening titles say : "This story is inspired by the life of Mary McLeod Bethune, who was born of slave parents and rose to become adviser to the President." Emma C. Tremaine was born poor in the South of the USA. She went on to found a school, became advisor at the White House and discovered the work of MRA at Mackinac Island. Her friend, the press reporter Sarah Miller, changes by measuring her life with four absolute moral standards; Emma Tremaine does the same. She "puts right" things with her daughter and her daughter's husband, Charlie.
