Barbara Rohde

Barbara Rohde (née Salmon) was born in 1937, the second of three children - having two brothers. Her father became Manager of the London branch of the National Bank of New Zealand. Her parents, Charles and Edith Salmon, became associated with MRA in 1944 when Barbara was seven, two years before Charles died of leukaemia. Barbara trained at the Royal Academy of music and taught music in schools in the UK and PNG, and the cello as a peripatetic teacher in Staffordshire and North Wales. During this time she worked full-time with MRA for seven years in the UK and Australia, mostly in MRA centres.
