Angela Starovoytova was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, grew up in Crimea, Ukraine, and is currently living in Kyiv, Ukraine.
She is a peacemaker who is passionate about building connections between people and communities. She has 20 years of experience in ‘participatory facilitation’ methods of creating safe and trusting environments to inspire personal transformation and change in relationships between individuals and groups.
In the late 1990s, she became involved with the IofC’s Foundations for Freedom programme, which fosters ‘the development of truly free and just society through encouraging healing of the past and reconciliation at the levels of individuals, communities and nations in East Europe’.
She is currently involved with the 'Network of Dialogue Facilitators' in Ukraine initiated by Foundations for Freedom/IofC in Ukraine. Using the Non-Violent Communication approach, they run dialogues, trainings, and workshops on conflict-resolution, participatory facilitation, peace-building and social cohesion. She is also an invited expert by international organisations including the IOM, UNDP, GIZ, OSCE and others.
