Swiss author and writer, originally a Greek from Turkey.
Hélène Guisan arrived in Switzerland at the age of six with her family as Greek refugees from Asia Minor. After gaining a degree in literature from the University of Lausanne, she married a Swiss lawyer from the Canton of Vaud, who went on to become a senator in the Federal Parliament. She is the author of a number of books.
