Indian Parsee journalist, author and publisher.
Russi Lala, a prominent member of the Parsee community in Mumbai, was the first Book Publisher to establish an Indian publishing house in London.
Lala had a prolific career as a Journalist, Editor, Philanthropist and Author of best-selling business and leadership books. He became India’s leading chronicler of the Tata corporation. From 1985, he was the Director of the Sir Dorabjee Tata Trust, and the co-founder and then Chairman of the Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy.
Returning to India from London in 1963, he became the Co-founder and managing editor of an English-language political newsweekly Himmat (an Urdu word meaning Courage) in Mumbai.
