Born in Malaysia where he had his primary and secondary school education before departing in 1967 for India for his University studies. Whilst at University he met the work of MRA/IofC in December 1969. He took a year of his studies to work with MRA/IofC and continued his full time involvement until June 1984. Since returning to Malaysia he has been the Executive Director of an Educational Foundation, a position he still holds. He is a graduate in Law and Communication Studies and also holds Post-Graduate Diplomas in Shariah Law, Accounting & Finance and Project Management. He is presently the Vice-Chair of MRA Malaysia and is also active with several NGO’s in Malaysia in the areas of Inter-faith and Justice issues. He is married to Tia who is a home maker and they have three daughters.
